"just what I was looking for!" 2010-01-04
By zeegriz
I was really torn about whether or not to get these boots due to the mixed reviews (I didn't want to have to go through the hassle of returning them). I normally wear a 7, so I ordered the 7 and they fit perfectly with a thicker pair of socks. I think the amount of support provided by these boots is just fine. They are not flimsy but not super structured--they don't collapse if you're not wearing them, but I can tell that they will acquire a "worn-in" look relatively quickly. Easy to get on, and fits my calves perfectly (I don't have huge calves but they are not skinny!) I got just what I was expecting by reading these reviews--these are great boots!

"Not for those of us with "sturdy" calves" 2009-12-31
By Avid Reader (Villa Park, IL)
I love Palladium shoes (and yes, they do run about a half size large and no, they don't have terrifically much arch support). I love boots. When I found this pair, I was so excited. Unfortunately, I've been blessed with calves that are apparently larger than average. I'm not a particularly large woman, but I run and my calves are thick. Every winter, this becomes a problem as I try to find stylish boots that fit. I buy several pairs, with high hopes, and invariably return all or most of them. I thought maybe the slouchy style would give me some more leeway in terms of fit.

The boots themselves are just as lovely in person as they appear in the photos, and I would SO have loved to keep them. The rust color was a gorgeous and completely versatile shade of brown. Unfortunately, as I feared, the calves were too tight and they had to go back. There was no room for stretching, and the half-zip meant that there was absolutely no hope for getting them on and off, let alone doing it easily.

So, my search for the perfect boot continues. (And ladies, I've even tried Duo in England - with NO success! My current pair is a Naturalizer pair that I'm not in love with in terms of style, but that fit and get the job done.)

I love these boots. I will say that if you have large calves, you might have an issue.

"Super cute, not so sturdy" 2009-11-01
By Lauren Legregni (N. New Jersey)
I loooooved these boots when I first got them. 6 months later (purchased in spring, obvi didn't wear in summer, it's now November) & they slouch sloppily around my ankles. Thanks goodness the were on sale when I got them. Def not worth $190, even $100.

 "3 musketeers" 2009-04-13
By Erin Palmer
This is a pretty nice boot. I would have been a little disappointed had I paid full price, though. They came to me smelling very strongly, but the smell has since faded. They are very flat boots, so people may wear out the bottoms quickly. But the inside has nice little nubby things on the foot area. They do no offer any cushioning or arch support, however. They were easy to get on and don't seem to be as small in the calf as other reviews have mentioned. My calves don't fit into some boots and I can wear these comfortably with skinny jeans. They look a little pirate-y, but in a good way. And the buckles make a nice clinking sound when you walk.
