"Too little room for toes" 2010-08-21By
W. Gan (Orange, CA)
This shoe is very narrow in the front and does not have enough room for the toes. It seems ok for short hikes but can be painful for long/steep hikes. A recent trip to the Half Dome left several of my toes blackened. I will not wear it again for any hike.
"Great shoe. Shame Columbia discontinued it." 2010-06-18By
Wild1 (St. Louis, Mo. USA)
Saw this shoe in a catalog I recieved. Tried to order it but they didn't have it in my size. Had a heck of a hard time finding it on the internet. Seems Columbia discontinued it. Great color and style. Goes great with all kahki and earth tone shorts and slacks. LOVE this shoe. Not only looks good but wears well right from the start. Columbia turns out to be the big LOOSER on this one....great shoe at a great price and now its gone.
"Columbia Tagori Hiking shoes (black and gray)" 2010-03-22By
Richard S. (Cincinnati, Ohio)
These shoes are pretty good. The first hour of wearing them, they were a little tight all around, but after that they fit pretty well. They're a little lighter than most other hiking shoes I have, which has given me enough confidence to do small scale climbing with them a couple of times. They're fairly grippy, treading on large wet boulders wasn't a problem for them. Climbing up gravel terrain was easy enough, and they dig fairly deeply into moss and deep grass. They handle mud well too, but are a pain to clean because of all the small crevices along the bottom and sides. My only other complaint is that the fabric above the toe section could be a bit heavier or sturdier. Beyond that, these shoes are good enough to get a five star rating from me, at least.
"These are awful..." 2010-03-09By
Michael J. Young (South Carolina)
See my additional comments under "Doggymcnuggets" two-star review. If you insist on buying these awful shoes, better order them at least two sizes larger than what you normally wear. I ordered a half-size larger and they are much too small, especially too narrow. They hurt my feet just sitting with them on. The soles do not feel as though they have any padding, and very little flexibility. They are advertised as "hiking shoes" but I can't imagine hiking in them! It would be torture. This a terrible product and a disgrace to the Columbia brand.
"Weird Fit - Returned 'Em" 2010-03-03By
Doggymcnuggets (Bedford, IN USA)
I have worn Columbia hiking shoes/boots for ages & currently have 5 pairs of them in my closet - all size 11. Ordered the Tagoris to replace an old worn out pair and couldn't believe how odd the fit was! These shoes are MUCH narrower than Columbia's normal fit and are way too narrow for me. The insoles are also very uncomfortable, having a couple of support areas that stick up way too far and make it feel like you've got something foreign stuck in your shoe. The heel end of the shoe is also shaped oddly causing the shoe to slip up & down on your heel when you walk.
I will chalk this one up to a design flaw or something, as I have been so happy with Columbia shoes over these years. I only give them two stars because they are nice looking. Avoid these shoes...
